Dr. Dev Mohanty

Biography

Utkal Jyoti Dr. Dev Mohanty was born on 27 February, 1957 to Parvati Devi and Shri Loknath Mohanty in the village Khandasahi, Nischintakoili, Cuttack district in Odisha, India. After finishing his schooling from Khandasahi Jagannath Bidyapith, he completed his "A Grade Diploma" from Electrical Engineering College Valsura Jamnagar. He then did his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Electrical Engineering College Valsura Jamnagar & Masters in Business Administration.
He also holds a Doctorate in Philosophy in Entrepreneurship from Ashley University, USA.
Dev Mohanty is also an Associate member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi.
Dr. Dev Mohanty is the founder and promoter of the ASMACS Group of Companies that are forayed into diverse business segments ranging from Civil Construction, Engineering, Marine, Information Technology, Human Resource Development, Industrial Training, Job Portal, Placement Services and Export-Import trade.
Dr. Dev Mohanty is the elected President of BOMBAY UTKAL SAMITI which is the oldest pravashi odia social organisation in Mumbai.
Dr. Dev Mohanty established BRAJ GAURI TRUST in memory of his grandparents to helping those that are in need of emergency medical care to thousands of patients suffering from life threatening diseases. Having a very rare Blood group AB +ve, he has personally donated blood many times, whenever required during emergency situations.
Dr. Dev Mohanty established, DEV LOKA EDUCATIONAL TRUST & Dr. Dev Mohanty CHARITABLE TRUST to provide more help to the needy people in the society in their educational, housing, food, medical treatment and financial assistance.
Dr. Dev Mohanty is the founder & chairman of the Social Organisation KALINGANS in a sense of making brotherhood relationships among each Pravashi Odia people in Mumbai to make our motherland strong and great.
Dr. Dev Mohanty is helping thousands of lives to provide their Roti, Kapada aur Makan, the basic needs of every human being. He established an Industrial Training Center (ITI) at Nischintakoili in the District of Cuttack, Odisha to train Unemployed Youth with vocational training in order that they become 100 % percent employable.
Many educated unemployed young men are struggling hard to find a job to maintain their families. Dr. Dev Mohanty has given job to more than ten thousand unemployed odias in abroad, which shows his greatness to his soil, the beloved state of Odisha.
Dr. Dev Mohanty awarded, UTKAL JYOTI SAMMAN-2010 & ODISHA GAURAV SAMMAN-2011 in recognition of his selfless and highly dedicated Philanthropical Social Service activities in uplifting the lives of socially and economically downtrodden people of Odisha.
Awarded, BEST SOCIAL SERVICE AWARD-2011 for his extremely dedicated service to the needy cancer patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.
Recently, Dr. Dev Mohanty awarded, SURENDRA MOHANTY SARASWAT SAMMAN-2012 for his philanthropic service activities to the poor and needy people of Odisha.

Social Responsibility

(A) SOCIAL service

Registered Braj Gauri Trust Under the Trust Act, with its Registration No. BGT/22475/dt.30thMarch, 2005. Presently taking care of cancer patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai as the founder and Chairman of the trust.
Five Odia volunteers of Braj Gauri Trust are giving moral and psychological support to ailing, poor and needy patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai every day.
Organising various Social Service Programmes in the form of Cancer Detection Camps, Bone Density Camps, Blood Donation Drives, Mobile Health Camps, free Eye Check up Camps with other Health Awareness Camps by Braj Gauri Trust in Odisha as well as in Mumbai.

(B) BLOOD DONATION DRIVES

Having a very rare Blood group AB +ve, I have personally donated blood many times whenever required during emergency situations.
Braj Gauri Trust volunteers arranging Blood and Blood Platelets to the poor and needy cancer patients of Odisha at the time of emergency especially those are coming to the Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai for their treatment.
"DONATE BLOOD, SAVE LIFE" is the slogan of Braj Gauri Trust. A life blood bank is working under my guidance for arranging Blood and Blood Platelets in any moment at the time of critical operations of the patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai.

(C) EDUCATIONAL

To find hidden talents in the field of education Braj Gauri Trust organizing “Talent Search Program” among the students of various schools in Odisha to give scholarships for their education which will help to create competitive spirits and the urge to excel and exceed in their curriculum.
Every child is manifested with divinity, a unique power to unveil the latent talent within. The only thing is to identify it and let the child grow and reach his target.
In the field of education. Braj Gauri Trust gives cash awards to the meritorious students of various schools and colleges in Odisha and the Bombay Utkal English High School in Mumbai.

(D) SPORTS

Organised Odisha Premier League (OPL -2010-11) on 14th February, 2010 at the Antop Hill Cement Ground amongst the Pravasi Odia Youngsters in Mumbai to improve their Sportsmanship spirit and find the hidden talent in them so that in future they can, through these kinds of tournament aim at more higher goals in the game of cricket.
Organising various sports activities by Braj Gauri Trust among the students of Bombay Utkal English High School in Mumbai to encourage the child as well as to develop their sportsmanship spirit.
Organising various inter-school sports activities by Braj Gauri Trust among the students of Odisha to develop their sportsmanship spirit to be selected for state, national & international level.

(E) UNEMPLOYED YOUTH

Roti, Kapada aur Makan are the basic needs of every human being. Many educated young men are struggling hard to find a job to maintain their families. Awarded UTKAL JYOTI SAMMAN -2010 in the field of Social Work & National Development on 14th April, 2010 organised by State Council of Artistic Research and Training (SCART) at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Awarded ODISHA GOURAV SAMMAN -2010 for the outstanding contribution of Social Development in Odisha on 15 -04-2010 at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Odisha Mahostav -2010.
Awarded BEST SOCIAL ACTIVIST AWARD & felicitated by Tata Memorial Hospital for extremely dedicated service of generosity for the cancer patients on the occasion of "Ek Hasin Sham" in honour of Cancer afflicted patients undergoing treatment at Shivaji Natya Mandir, Dadar (W), Mumbai on 26th November, 2011.
